  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 4 pieces egg yolks

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • In a saucepan, heat the milk and vanilla extract until warm.
  • In a bowl, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolks.
  • Gradually whisk the warm milk into the egg mixture.
  • Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  • Pour the custard into a bowl and cover with plastic wrap to prevent a skin from forming.
  • Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle with nutmeg before serving.
