Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a saucepan, heat the milk and vanilla extract until warm.
In a bowl, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolks.
Gradually whisk the warm milk into the egg mixture.
Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Pour the custard into a bowl and cover with plastic wrap to prevent a skin from forming.
Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, sprinkle with nutmeg before serving.
