Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the flour mixture and mix until well combined.
Gradually add boiling water to the batter, mixing gently until smooth.
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
For the ganache, heat the heavy cream until hot but not boiling, and pour over chocolate chips. Stir until smooth.
Allow the cakes to cool completely before removing from pans. Frost the cake layers with chocolate frosting, then pour the ganache over the top.
Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
For an extra touch, garnish with chocolate shavings or fresh berries.
