  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water add gradually
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips for ganache
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream for ganache

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the flour mixture and mix until well combined.
  • Gradually add boiling water to the batter, mixing gently until smooth.
  • Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • For the ganache, heat the heavy cream until hot but not boiling, and pour over chocolate chips. Stir until smooth.
  • Allow the cakes to cool completely before removing from pans. Frost the cake layers with chocolate frosting, then pour the ganache over the top.
  • Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For an extra touch, garnish with chocolate shavings or fresh berries.
