Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Make a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk. Mix until a soft dough forms.
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead briefly.
Shape into a round loaf and place on a baking sheet. Cut a cross on top of the loaf.
Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
Notes
Best served warm with butter.
