  • 4 cups sweet potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 0.5 cup milk whole milk recommended
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup pecans chopped
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp butter softened, for topping

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Boil the sweet potatoes in a large pot of boiling water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash them.
  • In a large bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes, milk, granulated sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well and spread into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the chopped pecans, brown sugar, flour, and softened butter until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over the sweet potato mixture.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
