Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, and baking soda; add to the creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, mixing until just incorporated.
  • Spread into the prepared pan and bake for 35 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.

Notes

Let the cake cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
