  • 2 lb chicken breasts boneless, skinless
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup 10.5 oz can
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 0.25 cup sour cream
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  • In a bowl, whisk together cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and black pepper.
  • Pour the mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or until the chicken is tender.
  • Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred using two forks.
  • Melt butter in a small saucepan and whisk in flour to make a roux. Gradually whisk in 1 cup of the slow cooker liquid until smooth.
  • Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir in the roux and sour cream until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  • Cook for an additional 15 minutes on high to thicken. Serve with a sprinkle of fresh parsley.

Serve this delicious gravy over mashed potatoes or rice for a complete meal.
