Instructions
Preparation Steps
Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
In a bowl, whisk together cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and black pepper.
Pour the mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker.
Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or until the chicken is tender.
Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred using two forks.
Melt butter in a small saucepan and whisk in flour to make a roux. Gradually whisk in 1 cup of the slow cooker liquid until smooth.
Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir in the roux and sour cream until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
Cook for an additional 15 minutes on high to thicken. Serve with a sprinkle of fresh parsley.
