  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.75 cups warm water around 110°F
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.25 cups fresh basil leaves chopped
  • 0.5 cups cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.25 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes optional

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Slowly add the warm water and olive oil while stirring until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  • Roll out the dough into a 12-inch circle and place it on a baking sheet.
  • Scatter the shredded mozzarella evenly over the dough, then top with halved cherry tomatoes and chopped fresh basil.
  • Sprinkle optional crushed red pepper flakes over the toppings.
  • Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from oven, let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

For added flavor, drizzle with garlic-infused olive oil before serving.
