  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, add onions and cook until tender.
  • Stir in flour, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil and thickens.
  • In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, ham, and cheese.
  • Pour half of the sauce over layers and repeat.
  • Cover and bake for 50 minutes.
  • Uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden brown.
