Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
Gently fold in the crushed pineapple and chopped walnuts.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.

This cake pairs well with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
