Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, and applesauce. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes.
Stir in the crushed pineapple with juice and the mandarin oranges until well combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool completely.
In a medium bowl, fold the whipped topping into the instant pudding mix.
Spread the topping mixture evenly over the cooled cake.
Notes
This cake is even better when chilled before serving, allowing the flavors to meld together.
