  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar lightly packed
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Spread the brownie batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  • For the pecan pie topping, mix together the corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, butter, vanilla, and pecans in a bowl.
  • Gently pour the pecan mixture over the brownie layer, spreading evenly.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes until the topping is golden and set. Allow cooling completely before cutting into squares.
