  • 0.25 cup light brown sugar packed

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  • Fold in the chopped pecans and spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the top with brown sugar, and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into bars.

Notes

To enhance the flavor, toast the pecans before adding them to the batter.
