Instructions
Preparation Steps
Place the apples in a slow cooker.
Add sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
Cover and cook on low for about 10 hours, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is thickened and dark brown.
Uncover and cook for 1 more hour.
Use an immersion blender to purée the apple butter until it reaches your desired consistency.
Stir in vanilla extract, then allow to cool before transferring to airtight containers.
