This HoHo Cake is an irresistible combination of rich chocolate flavor and creamy filling. It's the perfect dessert for chocolate lovers and a great addition to any celebration!
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Pour batter into prepared pans.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to cool completely on a wire rack.
For the filling, whip heavy cream in a large bowl until soft peaks form. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and butter, beating until stiff peaks form.
For the ganache, heat heavy cream until simmering and pour over chocolate chips in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth.
Spread filling between the cooled cake layers. Pour ganache over the top of the cake, letting it drizzle down the sides.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
