Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, and sauté until onions are translucent.
Add diced ham to the pot and cook for another 2 minutes.
Pour in the chicken broth and add the soaked beans.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 90 minutes or until beans are tender.
Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
Notes
This dish pairs well with cornbread or a simple green salad.
