  • 2 cups ham, diced Fully cooked
  • 1.5 cups navy beans Soaked overnight
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth Low sodium
  • 2 cups carrots, sliced
  • 2 cups celery, sliced

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • In a large pot, sauté onion and garlic until soft.
  • Add diced ham and cook for a few minutes.
  • Add soaked navy beans, chicken broth, carrots, and celery to the pot.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours or until beans are tender.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a bay leaf while simmering, and remove before serving. Enjoy with crusty bread.
