Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a large pot, sauté onion and garlic until soft.
Add diced ham and cook for a few minutes.
Add soaked navy beans, chicken broth, carrots, and celery to the pot.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours or until beans are tender.
Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a bay leaf while simmering, and remove before serving. Enjoy with crusty bread.
