Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain the excess fat.
In a large bowl, combine the hashbrowns, cooked sausage, and 1.5 cups of the shredded cheese. Mix well.
Spread the hashbrown mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
Pour the egg mixture over the hashbrown mixture in the baking dish.
Sprinkle the remaining 0.5 cup of cheese over the top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-60 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes, then garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
Notes
This casserole can be prepared the night before, stored in the fridge, and baked in the morning.
