  • 1 pound breakfast sausage preferably pork
  • 24 ounce frozen hashbrowns thawed
  • 2 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1.5 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 cup green onions sliced

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain the excess fat.
  • In a large bowl, combine the hashbrowns, cooked sausage, and 1.5 cups of the shredded cheese. Mix well.
  • Spread the hashbrown mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the hashbrown mixture in the baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the remaining 0.5 cup of cheese over the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45-60 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
  • Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes, then garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

This casserole can be prepared the night before, stored in the fridge, and baked in the morning.
