Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually blend the dry mixture into the creamed mixture.
Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of the dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden.
Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For additional flair, try adding a sprinkle of colored sugar to the cookie tops before baking.
