Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 8 ounces linguine or pasta of your choice
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 tablespoons parsley chopped, for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp from pan and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add butter and melt over medium heat. Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Pour in the heavy cream, and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  • Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat thoroughly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Return shrimp to the pan and gently mix with the pasta and sauce. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For an extra kick, add more red pepper flakes to the sauce or as a garnish. Enjoy the dish with a side of garlic bread or a fresh green salad.
