Instructions
Preparation Steps
Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
Combine rice and water in a pot, bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer covered for 10 minutes.
Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved and gently fold into cooked rice. Let cool to room temperature.
Place a nori sheet onto a bamboo sushi mat, spread an even layer of rice over the nori leaving a 1-inch border at the top.
Arrange cucumber, carrot, and avocado strips horizontally along the bottom edge of the rice.
Using the bamboo mat, tightly roll the sushi away from you, pressing gently to shape.
Slice the roll into 6-8 pieces with a sharp knife and serve immediately.
Notes
Serve with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi for a complete sushi experience.
