  • 0.5 cup milk preferably whole
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  • In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
  • Add the egg and milk, mixing well.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the strawberries and lemon zest.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Let it cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

This cake can be served warm or at room temperature. Pair it with a dollop of whipped cream!
