  • 8 oz semisweet chocolate chips
  • 0.75 cup mulled red wine Use warm, not boiling
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 cup cocoa powder For dusting

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Heat the mulled red wine gently in a saucepan until warm but not boiling.
  • Place the chocolate chips and butter in a heatproof bowl.
  • Pour the warm mulled wine over the chocolate and butter. Let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth.
  • Stir in the ground cinnamon and nutmeg until fully incorporated.
  • Refrigerate the mixture for about 1 hour until firm enough to scoop.
  • Using a spoon, scoop out small balls and roll them between your hands into truffles.
  • Roll each truffle in cocoa powder to coat and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Chill the truffles for another 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
