  • 8 ounces Andouille sausage Diced
  • 1 pound Shrimp Peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup Onion Chopped
  • 1 cup Green bell pepper
  • 1 cup Celery
  • 6 cups Chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning Adjust to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sausage and cook until browned.
  • Add onion, green bell pepper, celery, and garlic. Sauté until vegetables are tender.
  • Stir in chicken broth and Cajun seasoning. Bring to a boil.
  • Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 5 minutes.

Notes

For a spicier gumbo, add more Cajun seasoning or a few dashes of hot sauce.
