Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
Add vanilla extract, orange zest, and fresh orange juice. Mix well to combine.
In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Drop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto the lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a stronger orange flavor, add an extra teaspoon of orange zest or drizzle with an orange glaze once cooled.
