  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 each large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips can substitute with dark chocolate chips

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  • Mix in the melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in thoroughly.
  • Add the flour and gently fold in until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips last, distributing evenly throughout the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Store leftover banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for longer preservation.
