Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1.5 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 pcs avocados ripe, diced
  • 0.5 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 0.25 cup red onion finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp cilantro chopped

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • In a small bowl, mix olive oil, chili powder, ground cumin, salt, black pepper, and lime juice to create the marinade.
  • Coat the flank steak evenly with the marinade and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  • Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for 4-5 minutes per side until desired doneness.
  • Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  • In a bowl, combine diced avocados, cherry tomatoes, red onion, and cilantro to make the avocado salsa.
  • Serve the sliced steak topped with the avocado salsa.

Notes

For extra heat, add diced jalapenos to the avocado salsa. Leftover steak makes great tacos the next day.
