  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 cup basil pesto store-bought or homemade
  • 0.25 cup parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add chicken pieces to the skillet, season with salt and black pepper, and cook for 6-8 minutes until cooked through and lightly browned.
  • Reduce heat to low and stir in the basil pesto. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
  • Remove from heat and sprinkle with freshly grated parmesan cheese before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, garnish with fresh basil leaves and a squeeze of lemon juice.
