Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, vanilla, and lemon zest until smooth.
Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut each into 4 squares.
Place a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each square.
Fold each corner of the square towards the center and press down gently.
Mix beaten egg and milk, brush over pastries, and sprinkle with remaining sugar and cinnamon.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
Notes
These Danishes are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven but can be stored in an airtight container for up to two days.
