Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 count apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice to prevent browning
  • 1 tablespoon water to mix with lemon juice
  • 0.5 cup caramel sauce warmed for drizzling
  • 0.25 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips melted for drizzling
  • 0.25 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 0.25 cup chopped peanuts unsalted; or use pecans
  • 0.25 cup crushed pretzels
  • 0.25 teaspoon flaky sea salt to finish

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Wash and core the apples, then slice them thinly. Stir together lemon juice and water in a large bowl. Toss apple slices in the mixture to prevent browning, then pat dry.
  • Arrange the apple slices in overlapping layers on a large serving platter.
  • Warm the caramel sauce in a microwave-safe bowl for 20 to 30 seconds until pourable. Melt the chocolate chips in 15-second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth.
  • Drizzle the apples generously with warm caramel, then drizzle the melted chocolate over the top.
  • Sprinkle evenly with mini chocolate chips, chopped peanuts, and crushed pretzels. Finish with a light sprinkle of flaky sea salt.
  • Serve immediately for best texture. If needed, keep apples chilled and undressed until just before serving.

Notes

For nut-free nachos, skip the peanuts and use toffee bits or toasted coconut. To make ahead, slice apples up to 1 hour in advance and store in cold water with lemon; drain and pat dry just before assembling. Try drizzling warm peanut butter or white chocolate for a fun twist.
