Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts about 6 oz each
  • 8 slices bacon thick-cut if possible
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon chili powder optional
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon olive oil for greasing the air fryer basket
  • 0.5 cup barbecue sauce optional, for glazing
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped, for garnish (optional)
  • 8 pieces toothpicks to secure bacon; remove before serving

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat air fryer to 375°F for 5 minutes. Lightly grease the basket with olive oil.
  • In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Pat chicken dry with paper towels. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over all sides of the chicken and press to adhere.
  • Wrap each chicken breast with 2 slices of bacon, slightly overlapping. Secure the ends with toothpicks.
  • Place chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket, seam-side down, leaving space between pieces.
  • Air-fry at 375°F for 10 minutes. Flip and cook another 6 to 8 minutes, until bacon is crisp and the thickest part of the chicken reaches 165°F.
  • Optional glaze: Brush barbecue sauce over the bacon and air-fry 1 to 2 minutes to set the glaze.
  • Rest 3 minutes. Remove toothpicks, garnish with parsley, and serve.

Notes

Cook time can vary with chicken thickness and bacon cut. Use thin or regular bacon for faster crisping. If using thick-cut bacon, add 2 to 3 minutes or lower the temp to 360°F and cook slightly longer to prevent over-browning. For even cooking, choose evenly sized breasts or pound to an even thickness.
