  • 1 pound ground beef lean
  • 4 cups potatoes peeled and diced
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup carrots sliced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 2 cups milk
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter unsalted
  • 0.25 cup flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt or to taste

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, then drain excess fat.
  • Add the ground beef, potatoes, onion, garlic, beef broth, carrots, thyme, oregano, black pepper, and salt to a crockpot.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until potatoes are tender.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, add flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • Whisk in milk and heavy cream, cook until thickened, stirring frequently.
  • Stir the creamy mixture into the crockpot and mix well.
