  • 1 lb crab meat fresh or canned
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons green onions chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 loaf French bread sliced in half lengthwise
  • 2 tablespoons parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, green onions, garlic, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and salt. Mix well.
  • Spread the crab mixture over the cut side of each half of the French bread.
  • Place the bread halves on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add more cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce.
