Instructions
Preparation Steps
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add macaroni and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and whisk until smooth. Cook for 1 minute to eliminate raw flour taste.
Gradually whisk in milk. Cook, whisking constantly, until the mixture is thickened and bubbly.
Reduce heat to low. Stir in cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper.
Add cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well combined and heated through.
Serve hot, optionally sprinkled with paprika for a touch of color.
