  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 21 ounce cherry pie filling

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, and butter until crumbly. Set aside 1 cup of this mixture.
  • Press the remaining mixture into the prepared baking pan. Spoon the cherry pie filling over the crust.
  • Sprinkle the reserved crust mixture over the top of the cherry filling.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

For best results, allow the bars to cool completely before serving. They can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
