  • 0.5 tsp salt to taste
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper freshly ground, to taste

Preparation Steps

  • Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add pear slices and sprinkle with brown sugar. Cook until pears are caramelized, about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally.
  • In a large bowl, combine salad greens, blue cheese, and toasted walnuts.
  • Whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  • Drizzle the salad with the balsamic dressing and toss gently to coat.
  • Top the salad with the caramelized pears and serve immediately.

Notes

This salad is best served fresh. For a nut-free version, substitute walnuts with sunflower seeds or omit entirely.
