  • 4 slices sourdough bread thick slices preferred
  • 2 oz fresh mozzarella cheese sliced
  • 1 medium ripe avocado peeled and sliced
  • 1 large tomato sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter softened
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper freshly ground

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  • Layer mozzarella cheese, avocado slices, and tomato slices on the unbuttered side of two slices of bread. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side out.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill sandwiches until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 4-5 minutes per side.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding fresh basil leaves or a drizzle of balsamic glaze.
