Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, whisk together milk, cream, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, cinnamon, vanilla extract, salt, and nutmeg until well combined.
Add the bread cubes and apples to the mixture, and gently toss to coat evenly.
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, making sure the bread and apples are evenly distributed.
Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the custard is set and the top is golden brown.
Allow to cool slightly before serving. Optionally serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or drizzle with caramel sauce.
Notes
For an extra flavor boost, try adding a handful of raisins or a splash of rum to the mixture before baking.
