How to Make Candied Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 8 slices thick-cut bacon
  • Brown sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  • Prepare Candied Bacon:
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • Lay bacon strips on the baking sheet and sprinkle generously with brown sugar.
    • Bake for 15-20 minutes, until bacon is crispy and caramelized. Cool and finely chop.
  • Make Cookie Dough:
    • In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
    • Gradually add dry ingredients to butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
    • Fold in chocolate chips and chopped candied bacon.
  • Bake Cookies:
    • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
    • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden brown.
    • Cool on baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire rack to cool completely.
